I bought a Sevylor bed from Decathlon last year that is sort of an airbed with a selfinflating top. The main airbed part sems to be baffled and firm while the top is very soft. This feels quite like a normal mattress. I have not had a lot of experience of other campbeds but this is by far the most comfortable I have ever used. Single cost less thn £20 but it is a bit more bulky than alternatives so it depends on how much car space you are prepared to sacrifice for a good nights sleep. If you can get to a store they usually have them on display in the tents so you can try them out.

This is a new one on me - sounds good and comfy though.  I am now trying to work our just how many blankets, duvets, wooly hats, corrugated cardboard, small furry animals....... and so on I can actually fit in the car, I mean I'm cold in the house at the mo without the heating on (trying to harden meself up), let alone next weekend down on the south coast brrrrrrrrr!
