I've recently bought a safari Chef 2 and love it. It's mainly for two of us but will handle a bbq for four easily.

If you plan to feed the five thousand though, the bigger Cadacs or alternatives would probably be better.

The Cadac 2 see here looks great.
We have the slightly older Carri Chef De Luxe and added the paella pan to it.
We've had it for four years and have found it an excellent cooker for a wide range of grub.
We used the paella pan more than anything else ... finding some of the other variations e.g. the BBQ grill ribbed surface, taking longer to clean ... the skotel 'mats' are excellent in this respect as they keep the skotel surfaces clean.
The new version (as per U Tube above) looks very good, having simplified a lot of the variations and combined others.
Never had wind problems (lol) ...

100 - 200 quid still seems a helluva lot for what are , at the end of it all, little more than gas rings, with a griddle plate and a lid though ?.

Had the party grill and it was better than the cadac. But that was just my experience, lots of people swear by them maybe mine was a dud .
