Mains/12 volt adaptor bought from halfords. Bought a blow up chair wanted to check it before going out so bought the adaptor. My normal 12 volt pump worked fine so thought better check the airgo before going out but nothing, just made loads off noise left it on for 5 min as remember you said it could take a while but still nothing. Even stuck it on the chair to see if it need to be connected and it started to deflate the chair (and no did not have it on deflate lol) it didn't deflate quick just slowly.
Could have been me doing something wrong but did try everything I could think about to make it work, even looked at Gary's video with the kampa breeze but this sounded completely different.
And after 3 off them I gave up and got a refund
the halfords 12v adapter is 5amp what is about 60w max the airpump is 110w what about 9amp....no wonder why it didnt work via the mains/12v adapter didn't have enough power to support the airpump
Oops did remember that sleeper17 said something about 110 and their car would do 120 did try and find the info on the box but oh said it's shouldn't matter as it's 240 mains ( not very good at electric stuff)
of course it matters you need to make sure you have enough amps to make the thing work 5 amps isnt enoght to power the outwell typhoon pump you need at least 10 amps for it work... dont play this electirc if you dont know what your doing 12v or even 240v could course the product home as it has or even worse you harm !
the typhoon the 110w (just over 10amps) the best thing todo is check your car Manuel and see what out the cigarette ligger is, we know it 12 volt what you need to know is:
must be higher than 110watts
or
10amps+
id any less then 110w or 10amps you need to run it from a car battery or leisure battery, you can buy the mains to 12v BUT make sure the output of the adapter is 10amp + OR 110watts+
i can tell you the outwell typhoon is great and does a grand job the first stage of the pump is slow but when it changes the pitch in notices to a deeper down worry it just going onto the stage 2 part and when it complete to the psi you have set it will cut of automatically
Will check car Manuel next time I'm out there. Thanks for the help would probably had though I was going insane if the typhoon had turned up and I wouldn't be able to get that one working.
All the 12v pumps that are deigned to work from a cigarette socket in the car should only be used that way. All the makes are very similar. Again the Bravo pump is tried and tested over the last 4 summers with many brands of inflatable tents and awnings.
