The only trouble with the solar lights are that they have to get the full sun during the day. I too have some at the bottom of the garden, but as the plants get their leaves the solar panel gets covered and they are not so bright. I agree though, they are not bright enough to see anything by them, but are ideal for marking guy ropes. Watch out for those footballs too, as mine have got shorter throughout the summer as the ball keeps breaking them.
