Different tack - maybe they're not tired enough when it comes to bedtime? There are a lot of happy similarities between children & dogs - the need to run around to burn off energy, the need for love and fair boundary-setting, the stealing of chocolate..... Yes we have a dog, who's a pain at night if she's not had enough exercise. Maybe if youngsters have helped put up the tent, fetched the fresh water, gone to the play area if there was one, or for a walk or cycle around the site with new friends, they'll be ready to crash out, not crash about, when it was time for bed. As we're mentioning parents, my dad camped as a Boy Scout pre-war.
