Festivals I can understand and with young children even on crowded campsites. But please take the Bl--dy things down at night so people in tents can sleep and try turning the damn LED lights of as well you might just realise what a magical sky at night we have.
I hear no noise from mine at night and I turn the lights off when I go to bed.
drives my husband up the wall if someone has a flag flapping about at the top of a pole, he has very sensitive hearing and finds it impossible to sleep with the noise it makes. Me? Need hearing aids to hear properly so it doesn't bother me much. However the bright lights that people seem to need attached to the poles does irritate me as I'd much rather see the stars at night. Not sure I get the point of them as surely it's not that hard to find your pitch?

We would never bother with flagpoles, but can't see any harm in those who do. Lights on the top wouldn't bother us - probably solar so not likely to be like searchlights.
Stars! We close our blinds at night, but leave the Hiki uncovered, which is the direction where most stars would be found.
