The problem with using a SatNav app on your (Android) phone is that, if you receive a call (which, of course, you would only answer hands free) then the map screen is replaced with the phone screen - and, believe-you-me, it only happens when you are approaching a complex junction!!!. You can switch back to map function, but this involves tapping on the screen a couple of times and this loophole in the law is about to be closed - ie, if caught you get points and a fine.
Some cars will allow mirrorlink connectivity between phone and car (which allows phone functions, such as SatNav, appear on your car's screen), which overcomes this problem, but that can cost more money - it will cost over £100 to enable this on my Skoda and over £30 to enable it on my SatNav of choice (Sygic - which uses TomTom maps).

It works.

I was under the impression that it was much more expensive than that. I must look into it.

Hyundai owners get free map updates to the TomTom system fitted to the cars for 7 years. You just take it to your dealer to claim your annual update.

We use an AGURI 520, cost £200 off EBAY. Comes with lots of sites pre installed and built in dash cam. Been around France, Spain and the UK with no issues.

We have used the CoPilot Caravan/RV app on an iPad for several years since we started towing.

It's not perfect but then none of them are. I've tried TomTom and various Garman units of the years.

have you tried inputting multiple addresses?

few guys i know are interested but we cant get a definitive answer on how many it takes.

I just read about that loophole being closed, seems strange you can get fined if its a phone you're tapping , but not if its a sat nav or even your car lights you're switching on.

I've only ever tries about 6 or 7 way points, so I don't know what the limit is. You can store way-points as "favourites" which makes reselection easy, something I do for caravan sites so that we can easily find our way back to them.

I used to use a Garmin which is pretty good apart from not recognising the caravan option. However this is now a back up, as I find BMWs factory set up just as good and even shows in the Head Up Display on the windscreen.

My daughter on the other hand uses google maps on a phone and gets by just fine
