For just a compressor, lighting, phone, then 500Wh with inverter is far more than is needed - they are all fine at 12v.

(e.g. first example I found, https://www.amazon.co.uk/MAXOAK-50000mAh-Portable-External-Notebook/dp/B00YP823NA - 185wh for £110. Although it would need an adapter for a 12v car socket. actually, that 185wh one may not be very suitable - 12v output is at max 30w, and you can't charge it from the car 12v. The smaller one can apparently do 65W, and comes with a car charging cable.

There was a time only recently when it was a lot less expensive to make your own battery box, with inverter and solar charger.

But these of the shelf units from Maxoak, Goal Zero and Delta Flow etc, are making the building of your own unit less attractive.

Guys thank you that is so helpful of you. I basically need to keep an eye on the wattage of my devices. Is it best to order the pack directly from the company in the Netherlands? Will I need to buy three pin adaptors to convert from european sockets (to UK ones). I think lighting/charging will be its main use. I have a single ring electric hob, but that might drain it too quickly, will check its wattage. Any suggestions as to the most efficient fridge/coolbox set up to use with this, purely for milk/water supplies. I wasnt actually thinking on using solar with it, but if I decided to which option is best - I see they are on the powerpack website. Does anyone worry about bringing expensive products like this and leaving them in the tent ?

I got mine from Amazon. I had been in touch with the Netherlands branch and they said they don't distribute the UK version but would send out an EU plug socket version with adaptors. But I preferred to have the UK plug sockets. This one:

Delivery states a 5 day window and mine came on the fourth day of that in case that matters to you.

The other thing is to note that the max wattage of combined devices using it is 300W at any one time. So you can't be running a toaster or hair dryer on this which would be 1000 to 2000 watts. I suspect a hob might very likely be too much for it. Essentially anything that creates heat is going to be way above 300W. Even my milk frother runs at 500W and that only makes lukewarm milk! Might be best with a gas hob for heating food when camping.

As for cooling, Compressor fridges in general seem to be very good for energy efficiency although this is my first time with one. Waeco & Dometic are quality brand names that pop up often when I was searching. I believe they're all under the same company umbrella. A compressor fridge can run from £300 to a £1k but it seems like there's not a huge variation in efficiency from the slightly older models and the newest more expensive ones. I picked up the Dometic CDF-36 which is 31L for £400 but can't vouch for it just yet till tested. But one bonus is I can use it when I get home as an overflow fridge which you can't really do with your standard coolbox.

Some will suggest three-way fridges that can also run off of gas. However I kept coming across reviews saying they're not all that great when temperatures start to rise so I ended up avoiding them.

As for your last comment, my plan is that I'll keep all this stuff locked and hidden in the boot of my car when I'm not at the tent (hopefully airflow won't be a big issue but will prob lower one of the back chairs to ensure more volume of air to them). Power bank + fridge will sit there keeping my food & drink both nicely chilled but equally easily accessible for a snack or refreshing drink wherever I am! Yum! I mean you have to free yourself from worrying too much about stuff getting stolen or broken, you could just as easily have your home broken in to whilst you're away so no point being too nervous so long as you take sensible precautions.

Hi again, thank you for all that. I am just looking at my compressor and it states power: 1100 W. It's a PIT STOP, max pressure 8/116 bar/psi. 160 lMin. It's from karsten. It states rated power 1100 W S3 15%. . Does this mean that it won't run with the power pack? Do I need a new compressor also to add to my purchases ! Better to know now !

You would need something like the Ecoflow Delta 1300 to power that 1100watt pump, so £1,300.

No way will it run from a 300watt inverter, that’s just physics.

Probably better to use a 12v compressor like the RAC 900 and power it from the car battery with the engine running, unless the power bank can provide 30amp at 12v.

It would probably be easier to buy a smaller compressor. At that size, you would struggle to find a power bank that can run it, and any invertor would need to be wired directly to the battery.
