So, do you guys think that the party grill is safe enough? I was thinking to get one as well to replace the smokey barbie...
I have a Party Grill. I wouldn`t use it inside a tent, but that`s because I don`t cook in the main tent anyway. It`s very stable, easy to change the gas cannisters, the gas is under the flame ...yes, I would think it`s pretty safe as far as any gas camping appliance is.
The one downside is that if you use it on a slope and try to fry an egg on the flat bit of the hot-plate , the egg slides off. Duhh.......happened to me!
I have two of these suitcase stoves and think they are an excellent piece of kit. My feeling is that they are very safe when (a bit like most things) they are used in accordance with the instructions. There are very clear warnings printed on the stove itself regarding what NOT to do with them eg use overhanging pans but it never hurts to be reminded about these things. Cheers! MT

out of interest does anyone use the case part as a windbreak as I'm thinking it would lessen the cooling effect of the air on the gas bottle. but will certainly be taking more care when using it.
I never use the case as a windbreak, didn't think it was at all a good idea,as sometimes the sides get awful hot in any case. The more air around the better. I always cook in the shelter of my tent porch with a windbreak around, but always leave myself plenty of quick exit room, just in case!!

This incident should be reported to the HSE. The fact that it blew up so easily means there is a serious problem and there could be a design fault or a mistake in the manufacture. This could have caused a very serious accident and needs to be investigated

I think that it's more likely to be Trading Standards territory
We were thinking of buying the 2 burner Coleman petrol stove. This has a resevoir at the front for the petrol, not that far from the burners .. is there a danger with these also ?
Worried now as I used one of the gas cannister types shown above, although noy of my pans are that wide.

I use the coleman and have had no worries what so ever. Even after having it lit for 1 hour + the petrol tank has remained totally cool to the touch. Great piece of kit.
I find the whole thing hard to believe as no one was injured. I have set off small gas canisters and I wouldn’t want to be close to them. Maybe something else happened to it and they made the story up.
