 If i use propane on a lightweight stove will it melt the burners ?????

No. Propane doesn't have a hotter flame than Butane - it just evaporates more easily than butane.

So on a cold day (which is when you want your patio heater I suppose), it's quite likely that a butane cylinder just wont give you any gas!
