I dont think I met you but were you the only other backpacker on the site?
I went to my local £1 store and bought thin rollmat with silver on one side, Ive never been cold since, its light and easy to carry, and only cost £1!
Are you going to Elvaston meet? If you are let me know asap and Ill try to get one for you.
------------- I'm not fat, I'm just insulated for winter camping! ;)

The line moved for me when I had children and took them camping. The workload grows exponentially with each additional kid and everthing takes much longer....
suddenly I became less smug at my minimalist approach and looked longingly at people with things like tables, chairs and the kitchen sink. Luxury and gadgets... that is the way to go and I am going to embace it ............. But I still use by faithful trangia...
One day though I hope I will sometimes leave behind the extras, fish out the one man tent again and head for the hills ...... There is something good too about living on the minimum too and being comfortable with very little.
Really they are different forms of camping.
