My sister bought a portable DVD player as she loves films. She has used it a few times and I think it's great so she is bringing it with us when we go away this summer. I will see if I can find out which one it is. I know it's from argos and is pretty cheap. I guess it's something good to have when on a long journey or on a rainy day.

I am selling my used only once portable dvd player. It has a 7" screen and I am selling it for £70.

I decided that I may as well use my laptop since I take it camping with me anyway!

We've got the twin 7" screen venturer system with a game console as well(only basic arcade games), you can play games on one and watch a dvd on the other or watch the dvd on both. You can also use 3 headphones. works a treat absolute silence from the back of the car for 2 hours. We off to France in a couple of weeks so we'll take the Lord of the Rings trilogy, that should give us 8hours of peace!!!

We got ours from Argos, however it doesn't appear in the catalogue but if you search online to get the item code it's available it's available in local stores.

we got a ventuere 7in model for £129 from woolies.

Picture quality is fine and it works a treat both on the move and out of the car.

We use it to occupy our 3yr old daughter while we pitch the tent. She isn't a great help and the last time we went camping it was very windy which makes a big tent a dangerous thing to be near for a 3yr old.

Well we took the plunge and bought a Venturer 7" from Argos today for £99.I had a look at the twin version for £160 but decided that the venturer would be better as my daughter could watch it in her bunk and my son could watch the telly in the lower bunk. The venturer came with a carry bag that could be used to attach the player to the car seat, a separate battery for stand alone use, a mains lead and a car lead. It also has twin earphone ports. Not bad for £99.

we tried it in the car today with "the tribe". the result was total silence  - sheer bliss! I only hope it lasts!

Agree with SteveW, we've also got the Ventura with 2 x 7" screens and the games console.  It works a treat coz 13yr old plays games whilst 3 yr old watches disney films.  Picture quality is fantastic and doesn't jump at all.

Also for everybody, as you only get those headphones that fix into your ears (no good for small children) well Asda have very lightweight headphones for 98p each!!  That's right 98p.  They are so much better for both kids as those that fit inside your ears can be so uncomfortable.
