"Dukedog, I've been thinking about doing that with ours, is it a simple enough job for a novice?"
============================================================
Hi, Not a difficult job at all.
You will need to "split" the unit open by un screwing the 2 halves of the case. The sockets are secured to the front half by 2 screws and nuts. Remove these. (You may not need to disconnect the sockets to do this,But If you do, note which wire goes where and make sure your connections are TIGHT afterwards.)Turn the sockets through 90 deg. and mark the front for new fixing holes which have to be drilled. (5/32" Drill)Re fit the sockets using the new fixing holes...Job done!
Obviously the device will NOT be plugged in whilst working on it! Take care when drilling not to crack the pvc case. A hand drill would be better than a power drill unless you have a very low speed setting.
Good Luck.
