I bought a Milenco and often had difficulties fitting it. The problem was the internal edges of the parts, rather than sliding over each other butted up - hence the clamp would not fit together. So I got it on the work bench and with files carefully bevelled the culprits so that now they do slide over one another without any delay or cursing!!
One problem with my Milenco is that if the wheel is in slight hollow, the legs on the clamp prevent it from being fitted. The ground under the wheel has to be flat.
