I have a freeview USB gadget, you dont need a tv card and the aerial plugs into the end of the USB connector, the power scource is the laptop. The little aerial supplied is not much use unless your are in a strong signal area I use a portable aerial with good results.

Not sure if you mean the Sagem at £30 which is L220 x D120 x H35, it also tapers to the front which makes it look even slimmer.
Anyway we have one of these and is run from a 'plug top' transformer but works fine and picked up 103 channels!! at the last count. What I most like is the remote which again is very small works at any angle, unlike the one it replaced which needed pin point accuracy to change channels and cost a lot more!
I bought a very cheap low end of range free view box about a year ago from ebay £20 including postage have used it several times whilst camping, always got a picture, depends what postcode your at, I also use it at home to compliment sky tv in another room works great, and when the current system goes blank in a few years time, ill be ok I HOPE. Did have to get another arieal for camping mind apparently it needs to be a digital type got it from Argos cant remember price but fairly cheap.
