Yes you can get these for about £ 1.50 as long as you don't need lids. When you get to site you can stake them to the ground on the long side and they make a mini shelving unit or if you don't need them collapse nice and small. If they are stacked in the car do you need lids? Mind you they are open grid stylee so no rain protection.

I would get thes and then make lids if necessary less work than making the whole box. I would use shoe boxes rather than make the boxes come to think of it!

If you can use the folding boxes, maybe you can make lids for them from the ply??

    We use this 50 gallon tool chest to put all our camp cooking gear in, and the colemam duel fuel cooker sits on top. It holds loadsa stuff inc; pots cups pans plates cutlery & repair stuff & a first aid box. We find its great on the field as it has two large wheels too. Its very strong and gets thrown about in the jeep or the trailer no problems...
