That is a great price for the EHU's haven't seen them as low as that before! Nice one!

One problem with regs & kite marks i've found is that they are wide open to interpretation.

I can legally make up EHU leads with kite marked products and as long as adequate protestion is provided ( a 5/10 Amp fuse?) and I issue a warning notice on a piece of poor quality paper stateing that this unit should only be used in dry conditions etc. etc.

Legally I'm OK, morally I'm up the creek without a paddle. Remember Buyer Beware or it's Latin equivalent.

Incedently I wouldn't sell or buy these units but some people obviously put savings before safety (Ouch)

The worst part is that if they don't work it will be too late to complain!  Lets hope that through this site we can alert campers and caravanners to these very dangerous items and hope that they will heed the advice given.

For those new to camping you should be looking at units like these for your Electrical Hook Up -

Towsure have thes at £49.50 for the single outlet and £63.95 for the three outlet. You really cannot be too safe when it comes to electrics ad damp or wet conditions outdoors!

These are the type that all good retailers will recommend as does the Caravan and the Caravan and Camping clubs.

Hi, need to get a proper EHU lead for this summer, but looking at the 3 plug one selling at Towsure, it looks like the positioning of the sockets should be side by side (so all electrical leads lay side by side when plugged in) and not one behind the other (where the leads would lay on top of the next plug). It looks like it would be hard to get a plug into the socket as another plug would be in the way.  Sorry, was that clear as mud?? 

Anyone advise?

Yes your right its a real pain if you have sealed plugs like on the fridge, we have to make sure its in the bottom socket or we carnt fit it in, someone on here did find one where the sockets ran along so the wires came out in a line, only thing is I already had mine so didnt take much notice of who was selling them but they are avilable. maybe someone will be along soon who can tell you where to get them.

I prefer these sockets on my EHU at IP 66 they are higher rated than the blue plug that is left outside exposed to all the rain etc.

& it  has RCD built in as well. Better than any EHU I have seen in the shops to date.

there has been a thread on here about this very problem especially if you have a mobile phone etc with the charger built into the plug. you can rotate the sockets 90 degrees so they face the other way and don't interfere with each other.

Although if you cannot close the cover you lose the water resistance obviously.
