Hi Janet

We went on our first ever camping trip with our kids aged 14, 11, 10 and 2.

I refused to take the telly, and packed loads of games and books etc so we could have quality family time!

After 3 days, we ended up hiring a telly!!

We had noticed that our son, who used to be a real bookworm, hadn`t read a book in months. This last time we went camping on a longish trip, we told him to take his book that he got at Christmas in case he got bored in the evenings. Son moaned and groaned, said he wouldn`t read it etc, but eventually packed it. He read it within 4 nights and started moaning at us because we didn`t tell him to take two books! Next weekend when we go away on another long trip I am making sure he takes at least two books and we are DEFINITELY not taking a TV!

Hi everyone,  we dont take a tv camping.  Me, OH and 3 boys, 10,11 and 15 take lots of games books and stuff, however looking out of the window today at the garden being battered by the wind and the rain, i think i might look for one of those cheap hand held things.   If anyone has any ideas were to buy a cheap one let me know.
