I just love reading my books and at home we have those touch lights by the bed so can manage to let hubby still get off to sleep if I just have it on the second touch which is still plenty bright enough for reading but I also have two clip on battery booklights too.
One was a cheapy in Tesco at Christmas and was lovely and bright with an LED bulb but the battery didn't last very long and they're funny round flat ones that are quite pricey to replace and take two at a time.
The other one was bought for me by my hubby one other Christmas from the Gadget Shop and that's great. While it does take 3 AAA batteries, at least you can pick those up fairly cheaply and tbh I only use that in the car or caravan now anyhoo since the touch lamps are easier to cope with at home.
But in the tin tent we use a rechargeable Coleman lantern with flourescent strips which is so-o-o-o-o bright out in the awning, (awning lights are never bright enough), or when using the rear double, (which only has the overhead light and no reading lights like the front singles/large double do), I have had to resort back to my book light again. However, this year I spotted an LED headlamp, (like we often use for night fishing anyhoo), and it was only £1 at Cornish Market World and it takes the same AAA batteries as me Gadget shop booklight so had plenty with me, so I thought I'd give that a try and while hubby chuckled at it, it certainly does the job and not so heavy for me when reading lying down in bed as the booklight is. Not that that's really heavy for normal peeps, it's just heavier for me with the arthritis and fibromyalgia affecting me joints. Nice to have a choice of lighting now though
