Worth every penny - wouldn't be without mine (managed to find a whistling fast-boil kettle for about £30 at Ropers Catterick??)).

really glad I saw this before ordering a stove top kettle. I would never have thought of that. anyone tried Pyramid rapid boil copper based £16.99 one? here

Yes we got pyramid one at similar price from local camp shop. Seems to boil quicker but we also needed bigger capacity. I only put in water I need and it keeps warm for while too. I got no problems. Personally I would have elec one due to cost of gas but dont like hot kettle laid about near elec plugs as they never seem to have long cable. Hope that makes sense.

apparently there are two sorts and the faster boil ones have the copper coil all the way round to the centre.but iv never found one,
