Tilley lamps are quite popular at the moment. I dont want to put a dampener on the ebay posting but there is a good chance that the price will rise as the auction ends. Tilley lamps are very efficient if kept in good working order and while you might get a "bargain" on ebay it is likely that it will need a good service. Otherwise be prepared to pay around £30 on ebay for a fully functional/ serviced Tilley. Dont get me wrong, this is still agood price as brand new a Tilley will cost you about £95.
I am constantly surprised by people who dont know what price they should be bidding on spare parts for Tilley lamps. I have seen a washer service pack on Ebay go for £8.20 plus postage which could have been bought direct from Tilley for £3.99 plus £3.00 postage.
The other downside is the likelyhood of damage. Tilley lamp globes are quite fragile and if the glass is broken in transit, at worst it will cost £18 + postage from Tilley to replace the globe.
