I've decided to get a tarp instead of taking my little gazebo. The decathlon one looks great but they don't do them on line. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

No, they dont do them online at all, you have to go a store. I bought one of their tarps a couple of weeks ago, and it's been a godsend. Very versatile too if how you can put it up, highly recommended ( if you can get to a Dechalon shop !!! )

No, it wouldnt, you wouldnt be able to secure it in sand / sandy soil - you need good firm earth. It only stays up by tensioning the guys against the poles

Here's a couple of pictures - first one, used to give me a porch and cover over my tent

and then later when it tipped down, and we wanted to sit outside with the people we were with, we used it a general shelter at the front of their Kyham

They have the Handy Tent in my local argos.  Are they really worth getting?

Hi Kjayne

The Argos Handy is good value if you can get one. I recently purchased this model but took it back because the frame was unstable, I think I was just unlucky, there are others on here who have bought it and are pleased with it and at half price you would have a good deal.If you do purchase one I would suggest you put it up in the garden to check it out for any defects, don't wait until you go away.

I gave up on the idea and now use my Oklahoma in the garden cos it is much more weather resistant and I get double the use for my money

i had a gazebo which did exactly what I didnt want it to do whilst iwas out...
It was pegged with delta pegs the poles came under the cloth ...
The metal frame on its own with wind power almost took out my neighbours tent....

This was The ukcs national meet last year...

I binned the gazebo that wasnt even water proof and bopught a Royal day room...
6 sides so more stable pegs the legs and 6 lines to the ground I will NEVER had a gazebo again they are great for a drinky poos in the garden but we are talking about leaving this up ALL weekend or week.
I am happy in my day room with the mesh sides and window and three doors...and STEEL legs...
Most camp sites will not allow gazebos now because they are dangerous.... flimsy bits of plastic covered cheap rubbish I ask you what can you get decent for £15-20 waste of money, OMHO

I live in Stockport and we have a decathon should any one want a tarp I am more than happy to go and get one and post it to you...

just mail me on my link...

Webby

I liked your pictures so much, I have bought one

I couldn't get to a Decathlon shop in the UK but luckily I work in France part of the time and they have Decathlon shops everywhere - it seems they are big elsewhere in Europe just small in the UK

At prices like this, one can only hope that they expand their UK presence

We camp mainly at motorsport events where campers often use gazebos. I can tell you of at least 15 gazebos that have taken off in the last two years in the events that I have been at.

At least 7 of these have caused damage to adjoining tents and cars. A fried of mine is trying to work out whether he has any kind of insurance to allow him to pay in respect of the dented roof and smashed window of a nearly new car that was parked next to him three weeks ago.

At an event in May one Gazebo damaged 7 cars!

I've used them in France and even in a very light breeze we couldn't make ours stable. We double pegged, added guys and the poles just bucked.

Clearly it's your choice if you use one and whether you have any concern for your neighbours. Just work out how you are going to pay those that your gazebo causes damage to and don't say that nobody told you!

my tarp has now arrived so i will use that  - and if it falls apart in the wind and damages someone else property, I will just tell them that it could have been worse ...it could have been a gazebo !!
