I would guess its ok to tie the bag and put it in the normal rubbish, after all nappies and doggy bags will end up in the normal bins and at home cat litter tray contents end up in household rubbish.
Got our Kampa Khazi yesterday cant wait to use it.......I might put it on the landing tonight to save me walking all the way to the loo in the dark!!!
When I was pregnant with our twins we lived in a house with only a downstairs bathroom. It was down steep stairs and then through the dining room, through the kitchen to the far back of the house. Visits became so frequent I swapped to a bucket, but wished I'd had a KK.

Oh dear, i have just bought a portaloo, after having had a KK. When My little boy needs to go he needs to go now !!!, got fed up carrying a bucket full of "waste" sloshing around past the same people on route to loos. Thought the portaloo would be more hygenic. Havent used it yet, not sure whether to take it back now. Anyone on my side with this.
Have to say, kk is very sturdy and practical though.
I wouldn't take it back; in my view it is more hygenic.
Don't like this idea of disposing of plastic bags of cat litter in the site bins - even the most basic Certificated Site must have a Chemical Disposal Point, but may have very limited refuse facilities, which could possibly mean carrying the "rubbish" back home, which would be pretty disgusting, or just leaving it on site, which would be totally unacceptable.
Even if the bins/skips are big enough, it would be most inconsiderate to Dumpster Diving enthusiasts!
Still love the Kampa Khazi has took my bulk when at my biggest 22st. Am gonna test scented pedal bin bags in it with silica cat litter this year, dumpster divers can like it or lump it lol

I have just tested the silica cat litter. Didn't work for the cat and sadly didn't work for me either - it just does not soak as good as the woodchips I usually use in my bucket loo.

Worth a try if it doesnt work I know Yesterdays News with the fresh scent does, used it on our kittys from kittens and it was great stuff plus made from recycled paper.

I'm really tempted to get a Kampa Khazi now after reading this and seeing one in a camping store at the weekend. Just wondering though, where do you buy the cat litter woodchip stuff from? Is it only available in huge quantities?
We have had our Kampa Khazi now for 3 years and wouldn't be without it, all we use is a drop of Zoflora and a little water in the bottom, then in the morning we just empty it at the chemical disposal point, give it a good swill out and a wipe down with a dettol anti bacterial wipe and jobs a gud'n
Another vote for the kk here. We don't bother with litter pellets. No. 1 rule only! Just empty and swill with drop of water and zoflora - smells lovely!!
After a thorough clean, as always at the beginning/end of the holiday, we keep the internal baby bucket handy in the car as an emergency loo/sick bucket. Not had to use it like this yet though!!
