I use a normal peg that got bent in hard ground. Its now the perfect angle for pulling them out.

Put socket end of steady winding handle on the ground, loop a piece of string over handle end and then under hook on peg and lever out.

Sounds good for caravanners, lakelandlass, but we motorhomers don't always have a steady winder, nor do the tenters!
