You can get better than this for half that price!

What can we get Steve??

It is a set of aluminium pans with a clip on handle.  Yes, I agree it is pretty but don't be fooled to thinking that it is better than any other made in China.  Try THIS for £10.95.  What about THIS for £11.99 in stainless.

As for the thermo spot - give it a couple of years.  None of ours at home work now.

Steve.

I really don't agree - I have had similar sets of camping pans and they have died within a season due to the metal being too thin and lightweight or the non-stick peeling off. I use stainless steel at home but I really don't think you can beat the user-friendliness of a good non-stick pan when you are camping.

I don't know about all that Jamie Oliver stuff....that suitcase stove is well over-priced. And my bro'...when he got married a couple or three years ago here put on his wish list a Jamie Oliver oven dish.....£36.00, I ask you! WTF is that all about...just a lump of clay moulded into the shape of an oven dish, glazed and fired....£36.00!!! just because it says "Jamie Oliver" on it. I reckon it was worth tenner, max!

But the camping set looks pretty good if it can be found for reasonable money I suppose. Decent size pans too, ideal for family, which makes it better than the small ones!

Clare - Can I ask where you got your set from?

I too really like the look of this set - but my oh isn't sharing the same enthusiasm at the moment (guess who does the cooking in our house!) so I'm trying to find them for the best price.

Bev I just got back from www.homeandcook.co.uk I called in at the branch near Mansfield. £39.99 They feel really good. The saucepan has a griddle in the bottom of it which I wasn’t expecting. Very impressed.

Problem is its on the new East Midlands Designer Outlet site. There are 5 outdoor’ish shops there as well. I must admit to buying some T-Shirts and other gear as well but all with 75% off.

I couldn't help it - I had to buy some!

This last few weeks I've bought the son of hibatchi, picnic rugs (to make a carpet!!) and now Jamie's pans - I don't need any of this stuff - but can't hep it!

I ordered mine from homeandcook and opted for the cheapest delivery to keep the price down.  I was in two minds whether to get one but then I though 'stuff it' and ordered one!  OH bought yet another PS3 game this week so he best not say a word (he doesn't know yet) and this is for all of us to use (or me to make meals for them!!).  Son of hibatchi hasn't arrived yey though and it was ordered 2 weeks ago - wish it would hurry up.

Oh and on the subject of Jamie O, well I think he's great.  I try to watch his programmes and I think I may have all his books.  At Christmas I made the Jamican jerk ham (which was on his christmas show) and the whole family loved it, I was well chuffed :)
