We have just come back from a weekend away and we decided to buy another tv for the other end of the van. Our van is a twin dinette so on a night the kids sleep up front and we sleep in the back with the other seating area made up into a double. Well we realised on a night when kids are wanting to go to sleep that we could do with another tv, possibly one that would fit into one of the overhead lockers above the bed. We searched all over but couldnt find one, we new we needed another LCD model because room was tight and also we needed to be able to tilt it forward. The smallest LCD we could find was 14 inch which was too big for the locker so we decided to try Barrons at York. We got what we wanted here. a 10.4 inch Casio LCD tv with dual voltage. Very expensive but does the job brilliant. So now we can watch our sky movies without disturbing the kids!!
The tv we got is on the leisure power website. They have got it priced a little more expensive than we paid. They are selling it for £399.01 we paid £387.75 at Barrons.
Why don't you sleep in the front? That way you can have the run of the 'van while they are in bed
A word of warning about all these expensive TV's for the van. Please check your insurance policy on the van. I seem to recall that they have a limit of about £150-£200 on a single item. So your £400 telly will cost you £200 to replace. Failing that make sure you have some cover from your house contents insurance.
LCD TV'S in Maplin for around £150, 12v and mains and you can run then off the batt. for a lot longer than a normal TV, a bonus if you ever use sites without hook up. Ours is a 7" screen, a bit small but we dont go away to watch TV. It's there for the odd time we need it.
Thats ok Rizzo, if id have read this post i would have said exactly the same as you. If the end diner was longer then no doubt we would have switched with the kids and saved ourselves some money!! ..................never mind it was hubbies money :-))
LOL!!!! Hi John, i hope you enjoy your sky+ as much as we do in our house. We have never used a vcr or the dvd recorder at all since we got that. Its just so easy to use, and the good thing us ladies can watch our stuff on sky while you tape your boring stuff on sky at the same time! :-)))
