We have one of these hanging cutlery sets. Six of everything. I pop a rubber band round the whole thing to stop everything falling off and store in the box with the crockery and kitchen goodies. When we unpack on site it sits on the table/kitchen unit ready for use. Neat, tidy and ready for use.
Plastic food storage box that's long enough to take the cutlery and cooking utensils, and has a lid. I put the cooking spoons and spatulas in a cheapo plastic drainer (travels in a bucket in a bug) when on site for longer stays so they're easily accessible. Cutlery sits in the box on the kitchen stand for similar reasons. Cutlery box goes in big crockery/saucepan box whilst travelling.
I guess it's what suits you, your family and the trips you make?
We use a plastic food container with a lid - they stay there all trip after use and we know where they are - we have stuff we just use for camping so when we are off it all goes in the trailer.
We have a square Tupperware type box that holds plates, dishes, mugs and bowls. Two bacon boxes one for eating irons and the other for cooking utensils. They all fit into a square cool box with flexible chopping board, toaster etc. Boxes then get put onto kitchen stand and everything is to hand and dry and the cool box gets used as a "pantry"!
