Yes this has taken me back nearly 50 years! - our favourite Sunday night tea was 'toastie-pies' as we called them, filled usually with savoury minced beef.

My Mum had one too, i bought myself one off ebay a couple of years ago, we don't use it very often, but i love it.
THAT'S THE ONE!!! Talk about a trip down memory lane ... These things must have got a round a bit - we had ours in New Zealand!
I think these are superb for a quick snack. If you have two of them, like we do, then loads can be made quite quickly. And they are a great talking point even when waiting for them to cook.

I love my Diablos too - have one in the caravan and one at home! I prefer sealed toasties as you can get more filling in, so cooking them unsealed in a pan doesn't really work. And the electric things are too messy and fiddly to clean. Diablo is great - fast, easy to clean and yummy toasties!
