Most definetly, I cant ever be bothered to do it however but when I do you can reduce bedding to about quater of the size, its also how we store the kids on the journey up, give them a snorkel and there fine.

I have just ordered 5 from Asda which are £2 each. I have not yet found any storage bags big enough for our kingsize quilt which we use in our caravan. I paid a fortune for others that I have bought of which some worked and some didn't. Am due to collect them from Asda on Tuesday so will keep you posted.

I used Asda one's last year and they survived being packed and unpacked during a six week tour of Holland.

the packmate ones are the best roll up ones I have used.

http://www.vacuumstorage.co.uk seems to be the cheapest online but they are out of stock at the moment unfortunately.

I have just bought a pack from Home Bargains for £7. I think there are 6 bags in it. 2 large and 4 medium. Tested one the other day. No air had got in over 48 hrs. That will do me. Also tested the no hoover method. Zip it up with items in and valve open. Rolling it up squishing all air out then closing valve. Worked a treat.

I've had five of these for three years ... still sealed tight and not opened in all that time!

for camping we take something very similar to this, which we've had for three years.
it takes three double duvets, undersheets, four pillows, towels and sheets .... with ease.

Just bought one of these from poundland. It's 100x80cm and I can fit our king size duvet in it, just. It vacs down to about 2inches thick. Brilliant! It did leak initially and I was a little disappointed. However, with a smear of Vaseline on the screw threads of the valve, it's holding tight as a drum.
On a side point, making your own is also pretty easy. Just get yourself some garden rubble sacks. Place your items inside. Gather up the opening and hold it tight around your vacuum hose. If you hold tight enough, it will compact just as well as the commercial bags. Grab the end and twist tightly to seal the air in (wait, I mean out!). Tie off tightly and it's job done.

Also just got some large ones from the £1 shop and easily holds our king size duvet. Tried it at home. Deflated it with the electric pump. Its still holding strong 2 week later.
