In my area, Poole Dorset, a standard 6Kg Propane refill is £21 and a 6Kg lite refill is £26. An extra £5 makes me wonder if it was worth spending the money on the lite cylinders in the first place. Surely the actual gas should be the same price and the refilling of the cylinders is the same so why the 20% extra?

Good point Wildsville, its the same here. We decided that as the weights of the caravan included the standard bottles we'd go back to them. So we swapped one a couple of months ago and will change the other when its empty. The shop assistant seemed surprised but didn't comment apart from confirming thats what we wanted. As we generally only camp on rallies we use our gas quite a lot so its worth our while changing back.

I use both the standard and lite bottles and in my experience, the lite bottle costs a little more but the fuel/weight savings is still worth it. A standard propane bottle6kg cost me £30 at a garage in Chertsey so watch out for the ripoff outlets....

Make sure you check your Bottles if you've had them a while!

I returned both my Calorlite bottles a week ago, (one was half full the other empty) under the recall. Go Outdoors had them in stock. They would have cost £20.90 each otherwise.
