As am I lol. My Hubby will only agree to the purchase if it will function as a double bed though, without a central bar being easily felt. Look forward to your report

Also still interested to hear from anyone using a double sim.

Am hoping to 10cm SIM's will mean its high enough to put a fitted fleece topper across the 2 (and a sheet) so it will feel like a double bed. Will let you know how I get on.

Ok - did a test set up last night.

The Posadas beds went up so easily - although they are heavy and bulky (usual trade off). The single one had a clip to lock it into place but the double one didn't, which I thought was odd but think its stability comes from its size. They are nice beds though - very sturdy.

Next I put on the Gelert XL Xpeditions - which are v.nice and a perfect fit. 10cm ones for the double bed.

They go nicely side by side on the double bed and although they don't cover up the middle bar, when the fleece sheet is on, you don't notice the bar at all. I don't think a double mattress would work as it would end up going up in the middle and down towards the sides. When I put a single mattress in the middle, it rocked backwards and forwards like a see saw!

I took some photos - hopefully they will give you an idea.

This does seem like a good solution. We'll also put a sheet over the fleece mattress topper and a picnic rug on the floor.

On first impressions - I am very pleased with the beds. Seem so much nicer than campbeds - being higher and more sturdy and should be a very simple set up - although will need to find extra space in car.

We are camping with them the last weekend in June, so will let you know how we get on (and how my wife rates them...)

Have put some pics here - have got some more but it would only let me add 3 and not sure how to do more. The third photo tries to show the 'see saw' effect.

All the best

We find the central seam on the outwell SIM sits directly over the central bar of the POSSY covering it nicely and the whole thing sits quite flat and doesnt slope to the sides we bought 9 large furniture castor cups to protect the groundsheet from the bed legs.

Does the outwell sim have a central seam? From the pictures it looks like the outwell doesn't but the vango does. Which one do you have martinjp?

The outwell SIM i was looking at had no central seam, so it wouldn't have worked. If you have one with a central seam I could see this working - however you might as well have 2 seperate ones if you use a fleece topper (like I do) as they will be easier to store at home.

I have 2 x double posadas beds.

On one we use a double serenity 7.5 cm sim

On the other 2 x single serenity 5 cm sim

The double is fine and even though there is no central seam it does not ping up if anything is on top (sleeping bag etc).

The only issue with the double is its size. I personally don't think you need more than 5cm with the posadas and the space difference is HUGE!

After owning several aero beds which were rubbish thought we would try the outwell posadas double and got two 5cm sims from aldi. Only cost £13.99 each and sit perfectly on the bed we then put a fleece blanket on top and its really comfy and I cannot feel the middle bar of the bed at all

We have memory foam mattress toppers on our camp beds, yes they are bulky to transport but it's ohhhhhh so comfy. The website cut them to size so they fit perfectly. If you have the room they are great but the downside is the size. Hubby grumbles as his morning tea is later due to me being more reluctant to get out of bed.

Could you post a link to the memory foam website you used please?

Just got back from the first real try out of the Posadas and 10cm SIM combo - have to say it was a total success. Popped the Posadas up easily, the Gelert SIM's inflated quickly (kept them inflated at home which helped) and then put a fleecey mattress topper across the 2 and a sheet. We were in our warm sleeping bags, which were too hot so next time might just take a duvet or open up the bags.

Packing away was easy - the SIM's went back in the bag easily (not as small as when they were delivered but hey ho - as long as they go in the bag).

My wife was very impressed with the beds and slept well (phew...)
