What a great set-up Jim! I'm liking the look of that Karsten windbreak! Is it just 5 poles in sleeves then guy out? No foot plates or spacer bars? Are the poles aluminium?
I guess the burning question here is, did you remember how to pack it all in the trailer? 😉
Thanks Lidds. Really pleased with it and much easier to set up and take down than CA, EA, FW, SE......
The windbreak is 5 alloy poles in sleeves, spike on the top of each pole with a D ring to hold the canvas at the correct height. Rubber bungee at the bottom of each sleeve. No pole feet, cross bars etc. Was simple and solid although the wind was never strong enough to test it. The window stripe was a nice addition giving a view when sitting down but still privacy.
Trailer seemed to come back better packed than when we went!! As long as a few key items are in the right place for size and weight positioning the rest all fits with a bit of flexibility.
The fabric of the windbreak is not awning beige, but tunnel tent beige, which is more of a brown. Karsten will make colour matched ones to any pod colour but need 5 orders to make a run. I was in a rush and standard was in stock, not sure I could have justified the extra cost to get a sea green one. The windbreak was not the cheapest as you can imagine, but in the same ball park as Isabella ones.
Hi Lidds
I was planning to do exactly the same and head up to Lancashire when by accident I found there were some on my doorstep!
Try www.broadland-towbars.co.uk
They are at Rackheath just on the eastern side of Norwich which must be a lot nearer for you.
I don't know whether they will have the model you're after but they had several more Anseems in stock. The service was excellent and the prices were fair.Have almost completed my drawbar bike rack so will try and publish a picture when complete to give you all some ideas.
Will they deliver it to you Lidds? Mine was a similar distance away from us but I paid for delivery and it arrived on the back of a low loader. Someone else’s Anssems was also on there going even further down to Coventry (that one had had the wheels upgraded to alloys!)
Hi everyone,
Newbie here and wondering if anyone knows the size of Thule Wing bars I should buy to fit an anssems gt750 201 VT1, it’s for 3- 4 bikes, any ideas?
The dealer I am buying the trailer from doesn’t do Thule so didn’t want to ask.
Thanks for any guidance.
Cheers
You will need the 150cm length bars to go on that trailer, something like the Thule 963 wing bars. You will also need the Thule 757 foot pack to clamp on to the roof of the trailer.
Fieldfare trailer centre. Here now picking it up. Fantastic service and team.
They still have some Anssems trailers in stock but be quick, they’re selling like hot cakes.
All the usual suppliers were out of stock.
