Thanks Orama, I'm not really that boring I hope. As far as large cable ties goes, I just take medium sized ones and join them together if I need bigger ones

Apart from the obvious and essential equipment, we always take good quality large plastic boxes for shoes/cleaning stuff/cooking bits and bobs as they're so easy to pack; a large nylon bag for dirty or wet clothing; first aid kit; wet wipes; torches as well as a gas lantern; waterproof sandals for use in the shower blocks and a cheapie picnic blanket.
Just bought one of those collapseable bin bag holders - brillian. Just kept it inside the tent. No more taking to the bin each night to stop the wildlife spreading the contents of the bin across the site. £5.99 wll spent.
Torches. Wife says I have a torch fetish, as I have so many of the damn things. It's simply not true. (Now where did I put my copy of Torch and Lamp Weekly?)
Two collapsable camping chairs .... the ones that fold together corner to corner and pack into a tube bag, and have a holder for you glass in the arm. Very comfy, lightweight, and not expensive.... Mrs T got them at the Friday market in Uttoxeter for £7.50 each.

Why is there always something just where I can bang my head on it?
No water anti-bacterial hand wash is essential for when you just can't be bothered trudging to toilet block, esp after using bucket with lid in middle of night
