My God aren't you all silly!?
First of all if you are pitched the correct distance apart you shouldn't be able to hear your neighbours snoring/TV/ kids/radio/conversation/callofnature or anything if everyone has a bit of consideration and does things quietly, especially after 9pm or certainly 11pm.
Secondly, each to their own. If a guy wants to watch telly, let him, if a guy needs a pee in the night, let him.
Going back to the TV in tent thing tho', after watching it, its best to stow it away in your car because of the condensation that affects tents.
BTW, I am a very bad snorer and can't help it. I put up a sign outside my tent telling everyone this so they can choose to pitch next to me or not. I'm usually Billy no mates in the corner!
