"The Forest of Dean is in ENGLAND, the River Wye is the Border - Always has been and always will be - Over Our Dead Bodies.
Why do you think Offa built his Dyke?
The Wye hasn't always been the border between wales & england.
What about the period when BOTH wales and england dis-owned Monmouthshire?
At that time, they didn't so much have a border as a buffer zone.

So it was you with the candles
Yes, we were the ones by the back gateway. I was the one limping with the stick.
I tell you what those candles helped keep the midges away, the only time I got bitten was when we were pitching the tent. We went prepared with So Soft(Avon) and 2 different repellents from Lidl, also those cane citronella oil burners 99p each at Lidl, citronella candles flares from Somerfields 49p(pack of 4) and a 2 litre bottle of citronella oil from B&Q reduced to £3.95. I wasn't taking any risks, the BBQ also helped with a 5kg bag of briquettes costing 69p from Tesco's. I can spot a bargain a mile away.
I vaguely remember a recovery vehicle on site, so that was you. I would have gladly helped if I had known you needed a push, not that I know anything about motors though. You probably heard me and the kids trying to avoid squidging the tiny little frogs in the lane behind you to Beddgelert.
I saw a photo of an all year round campsite in the lakes and there where tents pitched in the snow it looked great but cold has anyone ever camped in snow.
so i got it wrong but not far from Monmouth and i believe that's in wales or I'm wrong again any how don't use a tarp in heavy weather or may be dig a mote from fran and steve
in cardiff s wales i think i have got that right or is there still water in my eyes
carry on camping
Monmouth definitely in Wales. The England sign is a few miles down the road.
