It drives me nuts when you only have a couple of showers on a site and some dossy women choose to take their own mirror in the shower stall and put a full face of make up on (as well as get dressed and fiddle with their hair) before they come out of the shower.  It's not their own private bathroom like the one at home

I usually wear a t shirt and tracksuit bottoms to the showers, then get changed into my normal clothes once back at the caravan/tent. I have always worn flip flops in public showers too, have done since I was in school and we used the sports facilities at the local recretation centre. Teachers always advised this practice to reduce the risk of catching any foot infections and even though it might be rare that you catch anything I still prefer to wear them. 

Bit of a balancing act trying to get dressed and put your outside shoes on without putting bare feet on the floor but I'm used to it now.

Thank you to the very pretty lady staying at Dafarn Rhos last Friday, (or was it Thursday?) who came out of the shower wearing a very small towel which didnt quite meet and walked across to her motorhome.  You made my OH's morning!

On the occasions when I do use site showers, I wear joggers and tshirt there and back and change in the van.  I also take our shower mat (one of those plastic round ones that fits in our van shower) to step out on and so that I have a dryish surface to change on.

I just hobble over in whatever I've shoved on when getting out of bed in the mornng tbh. Wouldn't dream of hobbling over in what I wear in bed coz, quite frankly it would scare children and animals and put humans off that s*x word for life! I sleep in me birfdee suit and it's in definite need of a good iron these days.

Howsomever, regarding the footwear issue. I only ever wear C***s anyhoo but take with me the ones I purely use as poolshoes when I go to the swimming pool so they're not likely to have any detritus from outside elements on 'em at any time. I daren't risk trying to stand and not fall over on wet surfaces with me being a decrepit and with dodgy bones, so I'm afraid for me, it has to be some sort of footwear in the shower too when on campsites or at swimming pools.

But I have also been known to only trot over to the showers in a large, (VERY LARGE), towel wrapped around me if I happen to have been for a swim first. I never risk having it drop off though, one hand on me walking stick, (flower powered natch), and t'other on towel

I'm very germ aware so go to the showers fully protected at all times.

It's actually quite hard to catch verrucas from a camp site shower. Feet need to be well waterlogged and 'macerated' (as they are after spending half an hour in a swimming pool) and with cracks in the skin, to stand a chance of catching one. In addition, in a campsite shower, hopefully you are using soap with your water, which should effectively wash away virus particles.
I shower barefoot and wash my feet thoroughly.

Been camping for 40 years and have never thought to wear footwear in public showers. I have also never caught anything from a public shower.....well not that I know of! However after reading these posts I think I will start to wear my outdoor shoes too as I'm starting to feel the odd one out. I have thought of taking a shower mat just don't fancy carrying it back to the tent.

I tend to wear tracksuit bottoms and t-shirt to the shower and then get changed back in the tent. Otherwise I end up dropping all my clean clothes on the floor.
