LR ownership, as far as I can see, seems invariably to involve some degree of reconstruction. The S1 is in the process of being disembowelled for the replacement of crankcase oil seal. Will probably also do the rings whilst the lump is out.

Every time I get the chance I claber into a 101 tosee if they have got a bit bigger in the front or if I have shrunk  little but neither they nor I ever have, so the prospect of YT terrorising Tesco's carpark in one on Christmas Eve morning remains in dreamworld. That aside, this

was my favoured mode of transport until a severe cashflow crisis forced our separation in '01. I still bitterly regret parting with it. The S1 is a lot of fun but the L/W was something else.

Yes, they're particularly awkward to get into (the driving seat) if you're 6' 6" with 36" legs.

ARRRGGGHHHH. Cabelas and Landies in the same thread. It's enough to make a grown man cry.

I've owned a Series IIA and Series III LWB and a 4 litre Disco in the past. And I really miss them. Full of character and guaranteed to do what Landies do best - breakdown at awkward times.

As for Cabelas... if anybody brought them in they'd have to charge at least pound for dollar, if not more, just to cover the shipping, import and VAT charges.

Hi everyone,

As a member and also working for Blue Diamond I thought it would worth mentioning that we've become the UK distributor for Reliance Products (a canadian supplier of water containers).

Check out our web site www.blue-diamond-products.co.uk/waste.html for all of the products but it includes the luggable loo (mentioned here), the fantastic new Hydroller - which I've started using and prefer to other fresh water containers because of the way it compact away, and the wheels on it.  It also includes the Water Pak which is a great fresh water container with stow a way tap and the Wash N Go compact sink.

There are loads of stockists including Barrons, Riversway, ABC, Leisureshop Direct, Caraleisure, Camperlands to name but a few - look at the dealer list.

Its a little bit of camping from the other side of the pond.
