"fleng said "Some have lousy navigation (Garmin Quest)."

I have been using a quest for about six months now & used in in the UK  & the US without any problems. I'm not disputing what you are saying but I'd like to be aware if there are any shortcomings that I don't know about. I'd be grateful if you could let me have any info about any known problems. "

Within a mile of where I live the Quest will:-

1, take you up a dirt path parallel with the road
2, take you on an access road parallel to the road and then bring you back to the road
3, take you up a no through road which has been closed off for the lat 15 to 18 years.

Three stikes and you're out, Garmin.

on the whole am pretty pleased with TomTom, when you get the hang of it.  Does find it very difficult when there are parallel roads, or in Tesco type car park.

Find it does not know such as one way roads in Swindon, if taking 'shortest' route.  Mind you, there are lots of them, and some roads and streets have been divided up, and fenced off with bollards.  They have been like this for several years though.  Was trying to get out of traffic problems.  Got there, as of course one cannot go up one way streets......so you still have to take charge now and again.
