The original post (and Jean's contribution) was made over 12 years ago!

See my post dated '04/9/2019 at 3:51pm' a page or so back, for link to suitable substitute instructions.

I'll refer you back to several of my previous posts on this thread re not working and instructions, but here's the link to instructions again (it's only a re-badged Dometic/Electrolux fridge so instructions perfectly valid).

Download PDF instructions from here:
https://www.manualslib.com/products/Dometic-Rc-1200-Egp-4112370.html

In addition to previous fault checks (which were mains only), these absorption fridge types suffer from 'vapour lock' which stops them working on any power source, often occurs after they've been moved and tilted around. Easy fix, remove all power (gas/12v/240v), empty of all contents, turn it upside down and leave resting flat on lid for a while (can be as short as 30-40min, may take a few hours, if it didn't work, do it again and leave for longer), turn it back up the right way, leave for half hour or so, then power up again. That often gets what appears to be a completely dysfunctional fridge working perfectly well again.

Oh yes, they are VERY slow to cool down, don't expect near instant refrigeration, the metal heat exchanger panel (at back inside) should start to feel cooler to the touch after 30-40min, but to really chill the fridge takes hours. It's not a fault, it's perfectly normal and a characteristic of the absorption type refrigeration process. By and large they are incredibly reliable and work for decades.
