We have 2 JRs so hopefully on hard ground it will be ok.

We have just bought a sun canopy to use instead of our porch awning. Of course the awning keeps the dogs in but we realised that this is not the case with the sun canopy! Doh - never thought about that! So hopefully this will be ideal.

i have a staffy if i manage to convince a campsite to let us bring her because in fact she isnt dangerous just very very stupid, would these hold her secure.

she doesnt lunge at people but does get very excited to say hello to ther four legged friends and also likes to get on your lap when your sitting in a chair.

she isnt the biggest staff in the world but she is stronger than she knows and i would hate to lose her or for her to get hurt

as long as you use good long pegs,and put them in at an angle so they cross over each other under the ancor then it will take a massive amount of abuse.my dog who is a cross between a springer and pointer(nutter/lunatic)can pull to he's hearts content and will not move it.

Just to add, when we first made the tether, it was sent to be tried at a meeting for readers of 'Camping' magazine. It was witnessed holding a combined weight of 30 stones.This was when we used 3mm stainless bar for the clip part.
We realised that the bar was being pushed down by being trodden on so changed to a 3mm plate arm and for convenience used a strong plated, flat, spring steel washer.

These were great for gradual or constant loading but we didn't take into consideration  the sudden, sharp shocks that a dog may make when charging off at full pelt. Like HSS (high speed steel) drills, they are good under load but a swift sideways blow will snap them easily.

However, we now use the 5mm karabiner and we believe the tether is at its best for the price.
