I had a look at one of these at Homebase today and thought they were the ticket. They've got one of their 10% days next week and I've already got £15 worth of discount vouchers so should be able to pick one up for about £30. However, I've just spotted that the Argos version of this product which says it can't be used with butane. Anyone know why? Anybody got one? Anybody use it with butane?

Can you cook a chicken on it with the lid closed?.

How does it compare to the Webber camping ones?

                                    Thanks, Ed.

We have one of these, and they are good. Bought it last year, and used it about 5 or 6 times last summer in Norfolk. After I managed to control the "flare ups" was overall quite impressed.

The bag it comes with is strong as well.

I imagine its be cause it has a propane regulator crimped on, if you change the regulator & put a jubilee clip on it should work but I dont offer a guarantee.
Try contacting the manufacturer direct.

Quick footnote, just re read the ads & it says it here
All our gas bbqs run on propane gas and are supplied with a propane regulator and hose.

Hi

Did you get one and how is it?  I'm thinking of getting one today in Homebase.  Never used a gas bbq before.  The guy in the shop says it works by the food fat dripping on the silver plate and then the smell going back into the food, does it really make the food taste bbq'd?  Did it come with a regulator?
