Even if you don't have a sig, breathable eco groundsheets are no good.  If you stand on the water comes through to your socks!  As in most aspects today green is trendy even  when the measures make no sense at all.

Hi jruss, sorry you will beat me to finding out the answer as not staying there till August but would be grateful to hear how you get on.  There are a group of us going and none of has this dreaded eco sheet.

Didn't realise this was such a minefield!
I have just been looking at a site which specifies ECO groundsheets, but I assumed this would just apply to the groundsheet in the living area. This is usually where most damage is done to the grass. I suppose it would be possible to lift the inner tent slightly in the daytime to allow the grass to breathe?

Hi

We use a proper breathable GS in our awning and it still leaves a light patch.

I've never heard of them wanting one for tents.

Cheers

Paul

No,

We had not heard of them before this!

Thanks for the reply, As from other posts read, seems even with an envo-GS it doesnt do that much for the grass and just gets your socks wet!!

Putting one under our tent will just be nonsense, so we are going there without one and will just have to stand our ground if we have to!!

Either that or we will be thrown off the blooming grounds! Start of a revolution eh!!

Many Thanks

By the way - feeling right now like the statue!

Hello,

Just an update to let you know how I got on, went this weekend and not a problem at all. They had a lot of rules and regulations on paper, but in reality, not one of them was checked. They didnt check the envo groundsheets at all, didnt even ask about them (and after all the worrying I did!!!). You basically sign in at reception where you are told which pitch you are on and then left alone to your own devices. Only person from the campsite that I saw all weekend was a cleaner once doing the toilets!!

So nobody has to panic anymore. It was just an idle threat, probably to show themselves doing the envo correct thing!

Many thanks to all who replied
