16 amp is standard on the CC sites we use, but we have been on a site in north Scotland where it was only 6 amps (that would give you about 1400 watts). And in Italy we found one with only 2 amps!!
Compared to the gas hob in the caravan the electric is slower, but I just remember that I am saving gas and keeping the cooking smells out of the van!
Ours is a Russel Hobbs one from Argos and is pretty good, also useful in the kitchen at home at Xmas.
