okaaaay, for anyone who wants to know... there is a couple I've found made by Mac Sport which go up to about 17 stone and seem reasonably priced, one is even a recliner!
I'm off to Asda tomorrow so will go over to the Asda Walmart and have a look at the Big Boy chair.
Those hi-gear ones look quite nice too, got my eye on a few.
We have bought chairs from Asda a few years ago and use them everytime we go away, as far as I know they have no weight rating on them but I'm heavier than 20 stone and haven't had any problem yet, even had photos took with my 10 stone wife sitting on my knee before.
We use the Asda Big Boy chairs. We bought them last year as they are a bit more sturdy than the average folding chair and are a lot bigger - even the kids prefer them a they are more comfortable. We are aiming to replace our remaining smaller chairs with them this season and we're looking forward to them coming into our local Asda soon.

Have a look at riverswayleisure.com they have a special offer on Big Boy chairs this weekend, normally £19.95 each they are only £25 for a pair.
i don't know it the Asda one is the same as the Royal but i only paid £9.98 for the Asda version which comes with a money back guarantee.
This is how wallmart is going to take over the world
i actually remembered i had a calculator on my phone when i was in the store and converted max load 159kg/350lbs to 25 stone and i have just checked again and i was right!
the 'standard. asda chair costs £7.98 and max weight is 102 kg.
they are more comfortable than the 'director 'chairs but the director chairs .. being square with solid arms, provide better support for getting in and out of them if you are a a bit old and creaky.

Im 24 stone and I use an 'Outwell' director chair. Very study. I have had it for 3 years now and no problems at all.
we needed a new chair because the fabric finally gave way on a couple of our directors chairs (B&Q from about 5 years ago) but to be fair they have lived outside ever since we bought them . The frames were still solid as a rock.
have to say the big boy is a bit more comfy and also more transportable (comes in a carry bag) so we can take it to the beach for instance.
My favourite beach chair which i can still just about get up from without too much difficulty but my husband prefers not to is Sunncamp Collapsible Low Chair (FN1007) from outdoor megastore. (i am assuming it is the same as the one i bought at cambridge folk festival a few years ago) Very sturdy and very transportable.
i might need that. Our Asda Big Boy chair broke :(
Sitting in the chair is probably fine if you are 21 stone but as you put your weight on the arms to get out of the chair the strain (or is it stress ) is probably a lot more than that.
Thre front plastic doobrie, the weakest point, has split. I will be taking it back to Asda this week.
The direstor chair may not be as comfortable but the design makes it much sturdier.
