I think your second choice might be the better option. I have one of the other ones although bought from Homebase I think and they aren't all that comfortable if you sit in them for long periods. The higher backed one might be better.

My husband hates our chairs which are the first type on your email - he finds them really uncomfortable.  I don't mind personally but everyone has got to be happy!  We've recently bought a camping version of directors chairs (quite expensive at £20 each) but everyone seems to be happy.

why is it always just after you have bought something that you see it cheaper else where.

The morale of the story is, ask someone on here before you buy.

I’m dead happy with the chairs I bought (outwell arm chair deluxe) its just sod’s law that just after you buy something somebody else comes along and shows you some thing cheaper.

As far as I know the folding chairs in the first Millets link were originally designed for fishing. Hence they are straight backed and not meant for lounging in. The little 'cup' pocket in the arm, I believe, was originally intended for bait or small bits of fishing tackle. I've never found a cup or a glass that fits in there yet. They are not really ideal chairs for lounging about in.

I agree. we bought two last year (the same offer). One broke on our first trip away. the other unfortuntely has been eaten by mice - not a design fault of the chair admittedly. We've since spent a bit more on a couple of chairs and are very happy with them. Claire

Lets hope the mice don't like with your new chairs.We had mice in the loft who,luckily for us, decided a plastic bag was better for chewing on than our tent and other gear.It's certainly worth putting a trap or two near stored gear that can be damaged by mice.

Bloody horrible things, can't sit in 'em for more than a few minutes before the front bars start bedding into the back of my legs.

As for use as a fishing chair - no self-respecting angler would be seen dead in one of those.

Spend a little more and get something more substantial and comfortable, it'll be worth it in the end. Have a look for chairs on some of the angling store websites there's a huge variety from around £20 upwards and they'll last for years.
