Hi,

Thinking of buying one of these portable barbeques. Have seen them on the john lewis website & was wondering if anyone had first hand info on them. I thought it might be better than the usual disposable ones we use.

thanks

HI,
I've just ordered one from John Lewis (£20 free delivery). Did you get one in the end?
I'll post to let you know what I think.

We had the same problem when we bought ours (party grill that is!). Went back to the shop and found out that we had a dodgy regulator on the gas bottle. It now works fine - although one of the screws in the legs fell out last summer which meant it started collapsing everytime we used it - so check the screws too.

Sorry I've replied to wrong message!

We just invested in one of these

Out of stock online and picked up instore for 16.95. Hopefully provide food and heat for our first trip, as well as being much better than the disposable ones ( can't be much worse)

We got one today in Jacksons for £17.50.  Got it home and assembled it.  Its fab.  Ours is small and is 14 inch high but it folds flat.  We've very excited.  We were thinking of just buying cheap disposable ones.   Just wish the weather would improve so we can try it!

This one folds down like an iron, but is considerably higher off the ground than the briefcase sort so won't scorch the grass.  They did have blue ones last time I was there.

Hi Jen

The other benefit is that you can also adjust the height of the food.  My friends seemed to use the top position most and the steak  / burgers were really nice.

Thanks Big b. I think i prefer the one at b & q for the height (less bending over!!) & the adjustable shelf.

Lets hope we get some barbie weather at whitsun.

we've got one of those notebook BBQ's and it works well. We've only used it once and it cooked everything nicely. It didn't scorch the grass either.
