I am sure this topic has cropped up before but I can't find anything so I thought I would ask anyway.
We are taking our 3 and 1 year old to France for 3 weeks in July and I wanted to know what people would recommend for their sleeping arrangements. Last year we took a cot but now the youngest is too big (and we dont have room!).
I am not sure what is best, we have one ReadyBed but our eldest daughter falls off of that - but I am not sure what other options there might be.
Our toddler slept in a gro-bag (sleeping bag with arm holes & zip-up front) until very recently. He wriggles a lot in his sleep & this was the only way we could ensure he stayed covered up. There are some very lightweight ones available.
Self inflating mats may also be a good idea - if you lay them side by side and block off each outer side then they can't wriggle//roll off.
If you have a double pod, put a double airbed in so it fits snuggly and there's no room to fall out of bed. We have a three man pod but wedge the little man up against the "wall" and put the older one on the outside. That seems to work for us. It's funny because at home the younger one never falls out of bed but if he's on the outside of the bed when camping he always falls out!
Hi,I got my 2 year old and my 5 year old the adult size ready beds. They wedge together inside a sleeping pod so neather of them can fall out.On top of the ready beds they each have an adult sized sleeping bag with velcro at the top so it doesnt unzip itself when they roll over.Inside the sleeping bags they wear all in one fleece suits on top of their pyjamas and go to sleep with a hot water bottle in their arms.I never hear a peep from them all night!
The ready beds we have are on ebay.....search for( deluxe ready bed ) if you have room in your tent.
Hi, yes am very interested in this, we have a little girl who is 2, really want to go off next weekend but so worried about the cold. camped last Aug with her and she was in ready bed but it was alot warmer as was summer
Could you borrow some fleece pjs from a friend for this season? During the next winter sale, make sure you buy the next size up ready for the following spring's camping!
