Hi

I use to use the tom tom go sat nav, but changed to Garmin 360 due to its size and being europe ready, and other feature's that it had. I still use this one and on the whole am very pleased with it, until it comes to being used when towing,

The options on the 360 leave abit to be desired, it will take you the fastest route, but you dont have the option to tell it A roads priority, or to avoid towns /built up areas,it takes me down the smallest roads possible some times, some with grass in the center and not really wide enough for the car let alone a caravan.

it does have some option as such you can tell it vehical type, ie bus truck, so it shouldnt take you on small roads............but i think it does'nt really care to much on that.LOL. I shall keep it for europe use.

MY question is i want to go buy another one, just for uk not to expensive that has good options on it so i can tell it, A roads, motorway, primary routes only. so if you have such a satnav that gives these options please tell, then i shall go buy.

thankyou.

I bought a mio 510 and it has those functions and cost £150 incl vat and delivery.

If you like it but cant find it at that price let me know and ill give you the place i bought it. (they actually were auctioning them on ebay but i dont like ebay so i looked at thier website and found it there for a lot more. I emailed them and asked if they would sell it for the ebay price and they agreed)

We tell ours that we are a lorry and unable to do u turns and it seems to keep us on the large roads. Only problem is we always forget to put it back and end up going to long way round everywhere even without our caravan!!!!

Hi Sparky 40.

I have a garmin 350. If I tell it to avoid toll roads it uses all main roads including motorway free sections (on the continent). I would have thought the 360 was very similar. Bye, Ed

The Navman F20 is a good basic GPS, you can set for fastest route which will favour motorways and main roads, you can also tell it to avoid unsealed roads etc.  You can currently get it for a tad under £110 from ebuyer

http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65781&highlight=navman

or £10 cheaper if you use the google check out.
