I went away at the weekend and pumped my airbeds up with my usual battery pump, which I was quite happy with. That is until the couple we were camping with came along with their super strong airbed pump which pumped their beds up in about a minute rather than the 10/15 it takes me. I think theirs was a campingaz pump but i forgot to ask where she got it from. Can anyone recommend a good powerful pump please? We don't usually use EHU on site and the cigarette lighter in my car doesn't so it would have to be a battery one or a rechargeable one i can charge before i go.
I have just placed an order for this one from Awnings direct. It is rechargable works of elec and car lighter. At £19.99 . Only cos I wanted an airbed pump and also wanted another windbreak (Windbreak 6 pole (3.71m long) (£5.50)) but also bought Sunncamp Uno Stove Our Price: £6.75
thought I might as well get from same supplier to save on postage.
I can highly recommend the Campingaz Quickpump. It's fully rechargeable by mains or 12v and lasts about half an hour once charged. It only takes a few muntes to fully inflate my Coleman double mattress. Has a range of nozzles but is compatible with the Coleman/Campingaz range of beds with the airtight lock system. I aso bought the pump vac accessory which turns the pump into a vacuum cleaner and is handy for hoovering the tent pods and the car after a long journey with crumbs and sweets in the back or sand after going to the beach!
Think I paid £30 for the pump and £10 for the vacuum cleaner attachment.
I have a £7.99 eurohike 12v ciggy lighter powered pump from millets and it blows double airbeds up really quickly, not timed it but a couple of minutes max.
Last year I purchased a powerfull air pump, I found it then damaged the valve in the airbed. No problems before, all holiday had to keep pumping up the airbed. Scrapped the airbed now, got the self inflating ones now. See how they go
I find that a lot depends on the size of the orifice in the item being pumped up
Our Coleman Comfort airbed pumps up in seconds but the same 12 volt pump takes much longer to pump up an airbed with the 'standard' narrow pump connection.
I'm looking for the best non-electric pump - is it a foot pump, those narrow cylinder hand pump ones, or the drawstring type that I've seen advertised somewhere recently ?
Tesco 7.47 for mains and car ciggy adaptor. We have a mains/12v power pack (from woolies with eleccy blanket) so dont run from the car but have tested and works OK. Pumps up airbed in a couple of minutes and the kids 12ft x 6ft swimming pool in less than 10.
