You guys seem to know what you are talking about so I thought i'd be cheeky and ask for some advice.
I am just about to go and pick up a second hand Trigano Oceane 2003 trailer tent, and need some security for it as unfortunatly it's going to have to stay outside.
Does anyone know what sort of hitchlocks and wheelclamps would fit it?
when at home I just take the wheels off, use axle stands, not good for the tyres to be standing in all weathers. When out and about I use an SAS LOCK fits most wheels. On the Hitch I use a lock thats shaped like a ball and fits inside the hitch, Then I just use a standard hitch lock cover. So the hitch is doubled locked.
I`ve got a Bulldog wheelclamp for mine. But to be honest, the best security we have is the 9" sheer drop on the inside of the back gate. We have a movable ramp for this which lives inside. Yup, of course someone could break open the locked gate, bring their own ramp, open the Bulldog and steal the TT...but it`s not worth megabucks anyway, and it`s insured when locked up in our own garden.
Moral of the story is be creative and make things as difficult as possible for a thief, up to and including sticking a row of heavy plant pots across the front of it. And make it look unattractive...tie a scruffy tarp over it. Unless your unit is worth a lot on the resale market (like a new caravan) then a thief won`t go to a lot of trouble to get your TT.
